Die Ou Pastorie is a unique guest house and restaurant situated in Skeerpoort, Magaliesberg. Built around an original 1880’s pastoral home and set in magnificent gardens at the foot of one of the world’s oldest mountain ranges, it is a concept in creative contradiction.
At once combining vibrant vintage with eclectic fusion décor, Die Ou Pastorie showcases both cultural tradition and creative flair. We invite guests to explore the myriad pathways of our garden, interspersed with secluded groves, seated vistas and edible plants, before delighting in a sumptuous meal served in the original pastor’s home.
The restaurant offers traditional Italian and South African cuisine, cooked slow with a twist, according to the tenets of relaxed eating.
To this end, dining rooms are furnished with comfortable couches, floor cushions and rocking chairs – complete with library – to provide an atmosphere of warmth and informality usually found only at home. Die Ou Pastorie also offers the ideal environment for a romantic weekend respite from the world at large, or as a country base from which to explore the plethora of historic sites, cultural market places and adventure activities available in the area.
